Human Rights Law

The foundations of our firm lie in the Advanced Master Programme in European and International Human Rights Law at Leiden University since the founding partners met and agreed to practise the profession together in Turkey during this programme. Accordingly, human rights and the concept of human dignity lay the foundations of our firm.

We benefit from international human rights standards as established by national/regional/international monitoring bodies in all our cases without exception and make necessary interventions before competent authorities in cases ranging from unlawful expropriation to unlawful arrests. However, our current case-load concerns the right to property, freedom of expression, the right to a fair trial, prohibition of discrimination, unlawful detentions, violence against women, disability rights and the right to housing in this field.

Starting from the scratch of each case, we follow a strategy to end the legal dispute in question easily and quickly before waiting for human rights organs. However, when our efforts do not bring positive results before courts of instance/appeal/cassation, we prepare and lodge individual complaints on behalf of our clients with the Constitutional Court of Turkey (Anayasa Mahkemesi) before European Court of Human Rights or other regional/international human rights monitoring bodies.

As KDK Law Firm, we provide a wide range of legal support and offer solutions about human rights law. If you need legal advice on such issues, or if you are looking for an English speaking Turkish lawyer, you can contact us.
